Dit weekend is ook de carnavalsoptocht westervoort. Traditioneel een week eerder. Helaas zijn wij hier niet meer van de partij, maar deze tijd kunnen veel Deurdweilers mooi gebruiken om aan hun creaties voor de optocht der optochten: de carnavalsoptocht van Angeren te werken.
Terwijl je in de kranten leest dat de optochten van Elst en Huissen zwaar te kampen hebben met een afnemend deelnemersaantal lijkt het in Angeren wel weer elk jaar groter te worden. Volgens ingewijden doen Angers Grut, Buutegewoon en de Feestneuzen er alles aan om dit jaar een eerste prijs te behalen. De Snirikets hebben beloofd dit jaar met een wagen van meer dan 7,5 meter hoog te komen.
